The research sponsored by the Oceanic Microbial Observatory has generated many publications describing a range of topics from technology developments with high throughput culturing, development of FISH probes, and improved capabilities for measuring quantity and quality of dissolved organic substrates to papers that implement these technologies in the field and the laboratory. Finally this project has generated several papers that describe the potential role that microbes play in oceanic biogeochemical processes.
