Click here to see an image showing the MESSAGE TRUNCATED error on my screen. This is version 7.2 of Netscape for MacOS X. Netscape is not as nice as the other programs I’ve looked at; it will not willingly display the plain text alternative. The text is there, however. You can get to the text by viewing the message source. This image shows how to get to the source via the pull down menus. As you can see, you can get there with command-u on the Macintosh version. However you invoke it, calling up the source produces this, which does contain the plain text, as you can see if you scroll down. You can make reading a bit easier if you then tell Netscape to wrap long lines. Now you can see all of Cliff’s message.
If Netscape has a better way to get to the text, please tell me what it is. Thanks.
