Bioluminescent bacteria and bacterial luciferase based enzyme systems are used for monitoring of toxicity of natural and artificial ecosystems. Responses of bioluminescent test-systems integrate different mechanisms of influence of foreign molecules. Bioluminescent enzyme systems can be considered as simplest models for finding correlations between properties of foreign compounds and response of living organisms. Effect of a foreign compound is a result of its influence on primary physico-chemical processes (energy, electron end hydrogen transduction) in bioluminescent enzyme systems. Effects of series of compounds (metallic salts, organic dyes, redox-active compounds, etc.) on the primary physico-chemical processes in the enzymatic reactions were investigated using absorption and fluorescent techniques. Correlations between physico-chemical (spectral-luminescent, redox, hydrophilic) characteristics of foreign compounds and bioluminescent kinetic and spectral parameters were found.[Poster: kudryash.ns.99132]
