Welcome to the Cardinale Research Lab

Our research is aimed at understanding how human alteration of the environment impacts the biotic diversity of communities and, in turn, how biodiversity loss can affect ecological processes that are important to humanity. Ultimately, our research serves to guide efforts to conserve and restore entire ecosystems. We work mostly in freshwater environments, but frequently extend into marine as well as terrestrial habitats as we attempt to gain new insight and find generalities.
