Our group is working with two other University of California campuses (Santa Cruz and San Diego) to determine the abundance of domoic acid (DA) producing diatoms and saxitoxin (STX) producing dinoflagellates in waters of central and southern California using molecular probes and will measure their toxin levels using modern detection methods.
