A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Proulx lab at
UC Santa Barbara to investigate the evolution of genome structure and new genetic interactions using mathematical, computational and bioinformatic tools. Our current research focus includes the
evolution of robustness in genetic networks, evolutionary theory for the
evolution of network structure, and the
evolution of gene families. The postdoc will have broad opportunities to conduct research in any area related to the evolutionary theory for interacting genes.
Candidates must have a strong background in mathematics and/or computer science and an interest in applying these tools to biological problems.
To apply, send an email to postdoc@proulxresearch.org with "theory postdoc" in the subject (for spam filtration). Include a letter of interest and CV. Include the names of three potential references on your CV. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
