Affiliated Departments & Programs

EEMB has strong research and educational ties to many units on campus. Some of the graduate students associated with marine faculty in the department are part of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Marine Science, a sister program to that in EEMB. Some EEMB faculty have joint appointments in the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management and the Environmental Studies Program. Professional Researchers and Postdoctoral Scholars in EEMB are associated with 2 research institutes, the Institute for Computational Earth Systems Science and the Marine Science Institute which includes the National Center for Ecosystems Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS), the only national center of its kind in the nation. All these provide a wealth of contacts, expertise, and opportunities for graduate students in EEMB.
