Christopher Hayes |
|
Dr. Hayes earned a B. A. in Biology from the University of Southern Maine in 1991, and an M. S. in Applied Immunology from the University of Southern Maine in 1993. In 2000, he received his Ph. D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he studied proteins that confer heat and UV radiation resistance to bacterial endospores. Dr. Hayes was a Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Postdoctoral Fellow in the Biology Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he began studying translational pausing and the SsrA peptide tagging system in prokaryotes.
