Professor Wilson obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemical Pharmacology in 1967 at Tufts University Medical School, Boston, MA where he studied the mechanism of action of the antimitotic drug, colchicine. He obtained postdoctoral training in the Department of Zoology at the University of California, Berkeley where he became interested in molecular cell biology and in particular the biochemical properties and functions of microtubules. Dr Wilson was a member of the faculty of the Department of Pharmacology at Stanford University School of Medicine, and joined our faculty here in 1975. Dr. Wilson is editor of the series Methods in Cell Biology, published under the auspices of the American Society for Cell Biology, and has served on a number of Scientific Advisory Committees for the American Cancer Society and for the National Institutes of Health. He is also an Associate Editor for Biochemistry, published by the American Chemical Society.
