Giving to MCDB |
|
There is a wide range of giving opportunities at UC Santa Barbara. You may choose to direct your gift to areas of special interest and concern to you, knowing that these additional funds provide an opportunity for those programs to grow and excel. Many donors also make unrestricted gifts, allowing MCDB to direct these financial resources to areas of greatest need. We welcome gifts in support of: Undergraduate EducationContributions can be earmarked for student fellowships, awards, summer research internships, or for support of undergraduate laboratory teaching. We are currently fundraising to establish and endowment and name the new pharmacology / molecular biology teaching laboratory the Jean Devlin Laboratory, in honor of Jean Devlin, who before her untimely death served as laboratory coordinator in our department. Graduate and Postdoctoral EducationSupport for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars is especially crucial to allow us to compete for top students and researchers. Gifts can support student fellowships, travel to meetings, or awards for outstanding achievement. ResearchDonors may wish to support a specific research program within MCDB, including Stem Cell Research, Alzheimer's Disease Research, Cancer Research, Macular Degeneration Research, Plant Molecular Biology, Kidney Disease Research, Developmental Biology, Neurobiology, Microbiology, or the research of a particular faculty member. A variety of naming opportunities for buildings, laboratories, lectureships and lecture halls are available, and endowments in support of distinguished faculty chairs are always welcome.Unrestricted FundsThese are especially welcome to provide the chair with flexible funding to meet high priority needs and fund exciting new seed projects in research and teaching. Department ContactsMCDB's development staff is available to assist you with information about supporting a specific area at UCSB. We welcome your creativity in specifying a gift that will engender a unique, individual legacy in your name.
