Wildtype and Chongmague tail bud-stage embryos
Three dimensional reconstructions of wildtype (movie 1) and chongmague (movie 2) tail bud-stage embryos from confocal images. The embryo was carrying a stable transgene with the brachyury promoter driving GFP in the notochord. GFP-expressing cells were immunostained with anti-GFP antibody and pseudo-colored green in this image. Cell outlines were visualized by phalloidin staining (pseudo-colored red). Note how some of the chongmague notochord cells are separate from the other cells; this is not seen in wildtype animals.
