NERE - NERE (pronounced "near") is a Multicampus Research Program of the University of California, systemwide. NERE serves as a conduit for interactions among evolutionists within the University of California ("UC") system and between UC scientists and the global scientific community.
NERE currently has eight formally affiliated UC campuses: Berkeley, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz, with its system-wide headquarters at UC Irvine. Membership is by invitation or after review of an application by a NERE Director at one of the eight member UC campuses listed below. There is no fee for membership, but members are expected to be active research scientists working on biological evolution. Employment or study at the University of California is not required for membership.
