Background on cDNA sequences (ESTs)

Pearlman EST sequences(Notes supplied by Ron Pearlman.)
Aaron Turkewitz' lab group made the log phase, full length cDNA library, Ron Pearlman's group obtained the cDNA sequence reads, and Ron Pearlman and Michael Reith did the Blast analysis of these sequences.

The cDNA library was made with BstX1 linkers cloned into the BstX1 site of Invitrogen vector pCRII. All inserts have been sequenced from one end with T3 or M13 Reverse primer. Vector polylinker sequence has been edited out and sequences begin (and end if sequence has gone through the entire insert) after (or just before) the BstX1 site. The data are single sequence reads. Three sequences have also been obtained from the opposite direction with M13 Forward primer and are designated in the file as (M13F). These sequences have been submitted to GenBank.

Awan & Satir EST sequences
Kathy Karrer's group made the 10-hr conjugating cells cDNA library, Aashir Awan in Peter Satir's group obtained the cDNA sequence reads and Aashir and Michael Reith provided blast analyses.
