Graduate Student Faculty Seminar Committee

The committee members are responsible for bringing coffee and snacks to all student/ faculty seminars (MCDB 260 and 262). There is a budget for buying the food and a large coffee maker is provided. Also, the committee members are responsible for helping students bring in student-requested speakers to either of the seminar series. This is currently the only position that is associated with a TAship (paid!).

Recruitment committee

This committee works with the faculty and Tony Tieu to help with the graduate recruiting efforts of the MCDB department.

Graduate Student Association Representatives

The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is the elected representative government for graduate and professional students at UCSB. They work to ensure that graduate student concerns are addressed in on- and off-campus policy decisions. Each department can have one representatives per 50 students who attend the GSA meetings and vote on the GSA agenda items.
