Joy

December 15, 2003

A few tasty Cayman photos are now posted in the gallery. With any luck we can add some underwater diving shots to the mix after visiting the parents. The week is already winding down and Jason and I are looking forward to Q.T. with our families. We wish everyone JOY this third week of advent, JOY given from our Lord Jesus.

"You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalm 16:11

Turtles for Thanksgiving

December 1, 2003

We just returned from a fabulous Thanksgiving adventure with the Triplats! There was no turkey and fixin's in Rosamond this year - instead Mom and Dad invited us on scuba diving trip to the Cayman Islands. Yeah - the Caymans! ...white sand, palm trees, and gorgeous warm water diving. We managed a grueling 7 days & nights at the Brac Reef Resort on Cayman Brac, one of the three sister islands.

Quick diving highlights --> Green Moray Eel, Viper Moray Eel, Spotted Eagle Rays, Southern Stingrays, Hawkbilled Turtles, Giant Spiny Lobster, Crab, a gazillion reef fish, and three wrecks -the largest being a Russian Frigate sank in '96.

Photos come back on Thursday! There were a few friends on our dive boat with underwater video equipment and digital cameras so I'm hoping to share xtra "in-depth" footage in the coming month.

...and if that wasn't enough. We did get to experience a little Rosamond love. On Sunday we celebrated my Grandma Bonnie Jo's birthday with the whole family! Matt, Ashley, Jaythen, Mom, Dad, Jason and I were all there to dish out the chocolate cake and hugs. A wonderful end to our family holiday.

Here To Stay

November 20, 2003

Ladies and Gents - This morning our very own Jason Tresser gracefully glided his way through his informal yet official "Faculty Committee Meeting" and was approved to continue work on his thesis project. Hooray! I'm convinced it was all his groovy powerpoint photos. Who can resist a mutant ascidian project? A few more years in the lab and he'll be in doctoral bliss.

In pursuit of 26.2

November 3, 2003

Saturday morning we ran the Santa Barbara 1/2 Marathon - check out the photo. If that purple lady wasn't in the way we would have had a good shot at winning. This distance was a first for both of us and we kept a 9 minute/mile pace to finish in just a hair past 2 hours. We now have our eyes set on a full marathon next spring. Anyone interested ?

Happy Birthday Mom!

October 31, 2003

Best wishes on *your* day!

a-glow

October 30, 2003

As I finish posting the Paris/London photos Jason is downstairs carving up his very own StrongBad pumpkin. I can't wait to see it all *a-glow*. We decided to buy candy and hand it out to the little Family Student Housing goblins tomorrow evening. I'm tempted to collect up the neglected toys decorating our walkways and slip them into the unsuspecting pillowcases and pumpkin baskets too. Trick & Treat.

Weekend Tresser Antics...

October 6, 2003

Friday evening I got dressed up & participated in a Theatrical Mystery Dinner with my parents. The dinner was organized by the Antelope Valley chapter of The Nintey-Nine's as part of their Fall Sectional Meeting. Months ago my mom recruited me to play sidekick to our friend Bob, the evening's photographer & get lots of smoozy photos with the attendees. What a kick! The premise was a 1942 USO show involving nothing less than mayhem and murder. It was to die for... embarrassing photos to come, mom.

Meanwhile, back in Goleta, Jason was tuning up for the Carpenteria Avocado Festival. He and a few buddies from the Santa Barbara Unicycle Club decided to cruise the festival on wheels. Yep that's my man on the giraffe.

it's too nice out

September 2003

Happy Birthday Miss Amanda Q! Happy wedding Toby & Julie! I know I have been lagging on posting photos, etc. but can I just say one thing? The weather is beautiful and the last thing I want to do after emerging fron my cave at work is jet home and switch on the computer. I'll save these tasks for days when the Goleta fog cloud rolls in and blocks every ray of sunshine. It should be a matter of days now. On the horizon= Paris/London picts, new J.C. Triplat picts, & hopefully a little more flavor. (e.g. Jason's hot pursuit of a Beethoven bust) hooray!

Paradise

August 2003

After 2 years on the wavering UCSB waiting list we have finally been accepted into Family Student Housing...what we like to call "paradise". The move is complete and we are enjoying and decorating our new digs. All visitors will now have the option of sleeping in our guest bedroom and dining with us on our groovy patio. We commend all those brave souls who managed a night on the livingroom floor at the old place (and a few who even returned for a second time.)
Topping the list of new apartment items is our player piano. It was hand delivered by the Tressers of San Diego. Jason is giddy and we hope the neighbors all enjoy ragtime music.

Toby and Julie are engaged!

May 2003

Congratulations you two!
Check out the website for more photos and their engagement story.
