Next week is HUGE at Career Services, GRAD SCHOOL WEEK.  We have tons of 
great workshops on how to get into grad school. All of these workshops 
lead up to our Graduate and Professional School Day on Thursday where 
over 80 schools will be at the Arbor to answer questions for students. 
Attached is a PDF which includes a list of schools coming that day, as 
well as all the following information. Sorry about the length of this 
email, but I tried to make it easy to see just what pertains. The 
initial overview list is followed by details.

This workshop will explore career options for MBA graduates and discuss 
the pros and cons of obtaining Masters in Business Administration. Learn 
admissions requirements and gain effective application strategies to GET

of the extremely valuable and informative MBA Admissions Panel on Thursday!

 

* GMAT Strategy Session.

Monday, November 2, 4:00-5:00pm.

Co-hosted by Princeton Review. In this workshop, you'll learn about the 
structure and types of questions on the exam, meet an expert instructor 
who will walk you through difficult questions, and learn proven 
strategies you can use on test day.

 

* Applying to Law School.

Monday, November 2, 5:00-6:00pm.

This workshop will discuss the major aspects of the law school 
admissions process including, selecting programs to apply to, submitting 
the application, preparing for the LSAT, selecting recommenders, and 
writing an effective personal statement and diversity essay. All class 
levels are welcome. Attending this workshop will help you get the most 
mileage out of the extremely valuable and informative Law School 
Admissions Panel on Thursday!

 

* LSAT Strategy Session.

Monday, November 2, 6:00-7:00pm.

* Writing a Great Statement of Purpose.

Tuesday, November 3, 4:00-5:00pm.

Are you having trouble getting started with your personal statement for 
graduate or professional school? Have you finished yours, but feel 
unsure whether it's saying the right things the right way? In this fifty 
minute workshop, you will get tips for brainstorming, composing, and 
revising your statement of purpose for graduate or professional school.  
Bring your questions and rough drafts to this lively interactive session 
conducted by the writing experts from the Campus Learning Assistance 
Services (CLAS).

 

* GRE Strategy Session.

Tuesday, November 3, 5:00-6:00pm.

Thinking about grad school? The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is a 
standardized test required for most graduate programs, with exception of 
law, medicine, and business. Attend this session to learn from a KAPLAN 
GRE expert instructor about the content of the GRE, the types of 
questions you'll encounter, and techniques and strategies to maximize 
your performance. Walk out of this GRE sample class better prepared for 
the GRE!

 

* MCAT Strategy Session.

Tuesday, November 3, 6:00-7:00pm.

At this MCAT strategy session co-hosted by KAPLAN, you'll learn about 
the structure of the test and the types of questions you'll see, meet an 
expert instructor who will walk you through some difficult questions, 
and learn some proven strategies that you can use on test day.

 

* Admissions Panel: Teaching & Higher Education.

Wednesday, November 4, 3:00-4:30pm.

Meet representatives from top educational programs and learn about the 
various degrees offered. Discover what evaluators look for in the 
application package (GPA, standardized test score, personal statement, 
letters of recommendation, work & volunteer experience, résumé, etc.).

 

* Admissions Panel: Psych and Social Work School.

Wednesday, November 4, 5:00-6:30pm.

Gain important insight into graduate and professional schools in 
psychology from admissions evaluators themselves. You'll learn the 
various programs offered such as PsyD, PhD, School Psychology, Forensic 
Psychology, Marriage Family Therapy and Masters in Social Work. Learn 
what reviewers look for in the application package (GPA, standardized 
test score, personal statement, letters of recommendation, work & 
volunteer experience, resume, etc.). Get an insider's perspective and 
acquire an important edge in the admissions process.

Are you considering a career in the health professions? Come learn more 
about the admissions requirements for a variety of health professions 
schools. This is a great opportunity to speak directly to admissions 
officers, so bring your questions, and learn what qualities can make you 
a stronger candidate!

 

* Admissions Panel: MBA.

Thursday, November 5, 4:00-5:30pm.

A panel of MBA admissions evaluators will comment on how they review the 
components of the application package (GPA, GMAT, work experience, 
letters of recommendation, personal statement, resume, etc.). Get an 
insider's perspective on what's being assessed during the interview and 
the types of candidates that gain their attention.

 

* International Graduate Degree Programs.

Thursday, November 5, 4:00-5:00pm.

Interested in an international career? Learn about MA programs in 
international policy; international business; international trade or 
environmental policy; and translation and interpretation; how to apply; 
how to afford it through scholarships and fellowships and pros and cons 
of doing it abroad. Specific details will be provided by Monterey 
Institute and Austra Learn with more than 32 university programs in 
Australia and New Zealand.

Thinking about graduate school? Here's a great opportunity to meet 
informally with graduate program admissions officers from over 80 
schools in a lively outdoor event. All academic fields of study and most 
professions are represented. Come and ask questions about admissions 
criteria, the curriculum, etc.
