*Position:  Curatorial Assistant*
*Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration, UCSB*

**The Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration 
(CCBER), located at Harder Stadium, is a facility engaged in graduate 
and undergraduate education, biodiversity research, habitat restoration, 
and public outreach.  Part of the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and 
Marine Science, CCBER owns and curates regionally focused biological 
collections linked to teaching and research

*Internship description:* Working under the supervision of the Director 
of CCBER, the Curatorial Assistant will help process a large collection 
of plant anatomy slides that were created by UCSB faculty and other 
plant scientists and learn how to mount dried plant specimens for 
storage in our herbarium.
*Required Qualifications*:  Ability to handle small glass slides 
carefully.  Ability to sit for several hours inside and perform 
repetitive tasks.  Interest in the life sciences, especially botany or 
zoology would be helpful.
*Hours*:  Schedule is flexible as long as the work is done during 
Cheadle Center business hours of 9:00 am- 5:00 pm Monday-Friday.

To earn course credit, you must be an EEMB, ENVST, GEOG or CCS student 
and meet the minimum requirements for your department.

ES 192/Geog 193 requirements:  

Upper division standing

            Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA

EEMB 184 requirements:

            Upper division standing

            Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA
